Hi, I'm Tara!

My name is Tara Mathewson, I am the face behind Lunar Babies! I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula that is also continuing education to focus on perinatal mental health and wellness. You will also find me working with a wonderful collective of doulas at Peaceful Birth Company.

 My love for perinatal care started during my career as a Social Worker and my close work with families from all walks of life. However, I have been fascinated by pregnancy and birth from a young age. It was after my successful VBA2C (vaginal birth after two cesareans) that I knew it was my calling to support families in this space.

As a mom of three, I experienced three very different births. With my last two I had doula support and learned quickly what a valuable role a doula plays on your birth team. My personal birth stories taught me that it is vital you feel seen, heard, educated and empowered no matter the journey.
